29th April

So like every other individual, I, too, like to relate to the things that barely even describe my situation. It can be a movie plot, lyrics of some sad song or anything weird! That’s why I still believe the date on the calendar is 2nd February while I am writing this piece. I once told a girl about this thing, and she really thought I was crazy — and I’m way too sensitive — and I let unnecessary thoughts ruin my day. Well, she is correct to some extent. And once we went for a walk, and I stepped on a frog — or a toad, and it died! She gave such queasy expressions that it was difficult for me to say anything at that moment. But she immediately questioned me how I could keep a straight face after committing such an immoral deed. I told her, “I’m not as sensitive as you thought.” And plus, it was a mistake. Why would I like to kill an innocent frog for no reason — I’m not some psycho. “Well, actually you are!” she told me. “Why?” I asked. “Nothing!” she said. For a minute we both were quiet as nobody could think of anything to discuss after that killing! Then she asked me, “How is this new Eminem Album?” I exclaimed, “Fire!” And I told her how Eminem is a Master of such surprises, and the album cover is inspired by Sir Alfred Hitchock and why it’s called Music To Be Murdered By. She did pay attention to some of the details, and then she nodded her head and said, “Okay! Must be Great!” After that, she started with her usual talks. We discussed other girls — and how she isn’t comfortable around them. We discussed a lot of things, and she palavered on topics that I can’t even relate to — but like a good man, I listened to everything she said. She held my hand and said, “I really enjoy your company.” And I said, “I know. I’m a pretty interesting person.” She told me that she really likes to see the full moon in the night sky. And I told her it’s rarely visible in the morning sky. She told me that she would love to have a mini library in her home. And I told her to read the books she ordered a month ago.

She asked me, “What’s that one thing you want in life?”

“Generally, people want a lot of things in life — and we don’t get everything we want.”

“I know! But still. Anything that you really look forward to — don’t think too much. It can be anything simple.”

“Sometimes, a man gets exactly what he wishes for, and that can be the most perfect punishment of all.”

“You’re such a turn-off, man!”

“It’s a quote! I read it somewhere.”

“Whatever!”

“Okay. Let me answer your question. I wish to say farewell on 29th April.”

“Farewell? It’s still two years for us to graduate.”

“No, not that farewell. The final farewell — Goodbye to this world.”
