The mask fell off. He could no longer pretend he was a good kid. And he eyeballed this schmaltzy person. They both cried. And a moment of merriment.

A moment of merriment. He failed to subdue his impish side. But no regrets. He realised that there were other puissant characters in his story, and they were yet to complete their dialogues. He finally found his mission. His mission was to become the most lovable character in the play. And he didn’t want any words of praise from the audience, but he sought the deuteragonist’s approval.

This costume isn’t appealing
But it fits perfectly.
I don’t wish to wear it;
I despise it;
I want that —
That green one he’s wrapped in —
And that baton; Long, Solid and thin —
Held by the woman I won’t dare come near —
I stand here
Still
As long as I have the strength
To Entertain.

How am I supposed to work with this bad headache?
I wrote three plus five equals eight —
Sorry —
You asked me to be there at eight —
I’m sorry
I was up all night
And I don’t know why I expected you to show up at seven —
Bad headache!

I was quite looking forward to this meet
You finally came
You were upset —

I had no jokes to share today
I thought you’d ask
If I’m doing all right or not
But why would you
It was just a bad headache.

For you, it’s all reasons and rhymes
For me, another step in this wild
As for where I’m headed
It isn’t just another place
And I’ve heard this phrase
“Sometimes it takes a leap of faith” —

Sometimes you’ve to look past this wall of failures —
But sometimes you’ve to drown to picture this grimace
And let the old rocks whisper in your ear,
“Who could’ve planned a better escape?”
